Welcome to Finley's Mountain Ranch

We are a small family-owned and operated quarter horse and paint horse breeding ranch in Ukiah, California. For those of you not familiar with Ukiah, it is located appoximately two hours Northwest of San Francisco by car... as shown on the map to the right.

At Finley's Mountain Ranch, we believe that quality offspring are not based on Stallions alone. Consequently, we have worked hard to put a nice little band of quarter horse and paint horse broodmares together to complete the package. Our mare's outstanding bloodlines can be seen on the Mares page.

We concentrate on breeding quarter horses and paint horses for correct conformation, kind and trainable dispositions, performance ability, versatility and color. In all cases our philosophy is to breed for quality, not quantity.

Meet our Buckskin Stallion Zans Skippin Town... aka: "Nic"

Nic is big and solid, with lots of substance. He has excellent bones and feet. He's very gentle in nature with a pretty head.

His versatile pedigree includes Zan Parr, Two Eyed Jack, Sir Raleigh, and Dyketown... just to name a few.

We raise a few colts to sell and breed a few outside mares.  Our foals are handled from birth. They are taught to lead, pickup their feet and trailer.  We usually like to wean foals at 5 months.  When your foal is ready to take home it will be wormed and current on vaccinations, including West Nile. We try to make horses affordable for everyone so payment plans are available.  Foals can be purchased in-utero for a reduced rate.  Also credit cards may be used through PayPal for horse purchases and boarding fees.
